Josef Nathanson is UIA's president and has over thirty-five years of project management experience in economic development, economic and demographic analysis, and city and regional planning. As Director, MetroResearch, for Baltimore's regional planning agency, the Baltimore Metropolitan Council, as Technical Director, Community Economic Development Program for Baltimore City, and as a private consultant, Mr. Nathanson has directed a wide variety of economic development and community planning projects. His professional associations include the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and Lambda Alpha International, a land economics honorary society. He served as president of the Baltimore chapter of Lambda Alpha, 1997-2000. Mr. Nathanson received his undergraduate degree in architecture from MIT and a master's degree in city and regional planning from the University of Pennsylvania.
Sharon L. Nathanson is UIA’s chief administrative officer. She has participated in UIA studies focused on childcare services, early childhood education and family support services. Ms. Nathanson received her BA in sociology at the University of California, Berkeley and earned an MSW degree from the University of Maryland, School of Social Work.
